An insulated Type 2 stove board that goes under your wood stove and protects a wood or other combustible floor from both heat and embers. Use it when your stove's manual calls for floor protection with an R-value, not just ember protection. It also qualifies wherever a manual asks for Type 1 ember protection.

Not every stove fits. Some manuals ask for more than R-1.56 (for example the US Stove US1269E, Jotul F 400, Quadra-Fire Isle Royale and Pleasant Hearth 2200 series), and some need a pad larger than 48" x 48" (for example the Ashley AW2520E, Vogelzang VG2520 and Jotul F 118). Always follow your own stove's manual and rating label.

Stove not in the table?

Check the floor protection section of your stove's manual:

R-value: if the manual lists a minimum, it must be R-1.56 or lower.
Size: width = stove width + the side distance on both sides; depth = stove depth + the front distance + any rear distance. Pick a board at least that big.

If a horizontal run of stove pipe crosses the floor behind the stove, the manual may also require floor protection under the pipe, usually 2" past each side. Send us your model and we'll check it for you.
