Overview

The Drolet HT-3000 is built for large-scale heating, covering up to 2,700 sq ft with 110,000 BTU/h of output. EPA 2020 certified at just 1.32 g/h emissions and rated at 78% efficiency, it delivers serious heat without sacrificing clean burning. A 3.5 ft³ firebox handles logs up to 22" and supports burn times up to 10 hours, making it one of the most capable non-catalytic wood stoves available. The HT-3000 succeeds the popular HT-2000 with the same proven reliability and distinctive look.

  • Heats up to 2,700 sq ft with 110,000 BTU/h maximum output
  • EPA 2020 certified at 1.32 g/h average particulate emissions — among the lowest in its class
  • 78% overall efficiency rating for maximum heat from every load
  • Up to 10 hours burn time — massive 3.5 ft³ EPA loading volume
  • Accepts logs up to 22" — loads across both width and depth
  • Heavy duty 5/16" steel top reinforced with C-Cast heat shield
  • Insulated top panel for added durability and heat retention
  • Glass airwash system for a clear view of the flames
  • Certified for mobile home and alcove installation

Frequently asked questions

Choosing the right size stove matters for both comfort and efficiency. As a rough guide, small stoves suit spaces up to about 1,500 sq ft, medium up to 2,500 sq ft, and large stoves (like the HT-3000) suit 2,500+ sq ft or open-concept layouts. The HT-3000 is one of the largest stoves we carry, rated up to roughly 2,700 sq ft at 110,000 BTU/h. Insulation, ceiling height, climate, and floor plan all affect real-world coverage.

Not sure what size you need? Use our quick sizing calculator to get a recommendation for your space: Stove Sizing Calculator
The HT-3000 measures 28 1/8"W x 31 1/4"D x 36 3/8"H. For the full dimensioned drawing (clearances, flue position, leg height), see the official Drolet HT-3000 dimension sheet here:
https://www.drolet.ca/file/DB07300%20-%20HT3000.pdf
Required clearances to combustibles depend on your setup — single-wall vs. double-wall connector pipe, and whether a heat shield is used. Double-wall pipe allows the stove to sit noticeably closer to back and corner walls than single-wall. The exact back, side, corner, and ceiling figures are listed in the Specifications section on this page and in the owner's manual. Always confirm the published clearances for your specific configuration and have the installation inspected per local code.
A blower is not included, but the recommended one is available separately: the Drolet Variable-Speed Blower (100 CFM, AC02050) — Drolet blower with variable speed control 100 cfm ac02050. You can also add the Quick Connect Thermodisc (AC02055) so the blower switches on automatically once the stove heats up. Both are shown under "What else you'll need" next to the Add to Cart button. If you prefer a no-electricity option, the Heat-Operated Fan (178 CFM, AC03513) is also compatible.
Yes. The fresh air intake kit is available and listed under "What else you'll need" next to the Add to Cart button. You can also browse the fresh air intake kits and other compatible accessories here: Accessories. Most in-stock accessories ship within 1–3 business days.
In terms of BTU output, the largest models we carry are the Drolet HT-3000 and the Drolet Escape 2100 — both suited to large, open-concept homes. You can compare all our wood stoves by heat output here: Wood Stoves
It is manufactured by Stove Builder International (SBI), a Canadian company based in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec. SBI designs, engineers, and builds all Drolet products in their Canadian facilities using North American steel and components.
No. It opens left to right, just as shown in the pictures.
Sorry, no. This model is only available with the single blower option, and it is still a good, efficient setup.
Both are SBI-built extra-large stoves rated at 110,000 BTU/h with 22" log capacity and 10-hour burns. The HT-3000 takes a bigger load per fill (3.5 vs 2.88 ft³ EPA loading), burns cleaner (1.32 vs 1.6 g/h), runs at 78% vs 71% HHV efficiency, and carries a Limited Lifetime warranty versus 5 years — and the FW3500 has been discontinued by Century. Just upgraded from the Drolet 1200; have not used yet but based on the 1200 it was a great little stove; the 3000 should be equally as great or greater.

Outlet pipe paint chipped off causing excessive fumes. Paint that remained burned off. Fumes still a problem when stove heats above 500 degrees.

This thing is a monster. We're on our third year of using this unit and we completely heat our 2,700 sq ft house with it. House is a comfortable 75 degrees in our basement where it resides and our upstairs is usually around 65 degrees. After 3 years of use, the unit still looks and functions like brand new. Solid product!

We are very disappointed in this unit. It almost burned our garage down with the poor material and functionality of the latching system on the door. I would like the manufacturer to correct this problem right away before something bad happens. I am really tempted to take it back.

The woodstove is great other than one of the re-burners on the inside of the wood stove ceiling falling out mid-burn. Now I am needing to do a warranty claim with Drolet directly. We will see how Drolet handles this issue.

The HT-3000 worked perfect for 1 week. Out of nowhere the door would no longer close. I spoke with a Drolet tech who said the door needed to be adjusted and that Drolet does NOT service their new equipment. I had to hire someone to come adjust the door out of my pocket. Not happy with Drolet for not servicing their brand new equipment.

After 6 weeks of use the bottom of the firebox opening bowed out about 4 mm. Enough to make the door difficult to close and making a small gap when closed.

I've been told we need to season it a bit so we haven't had a roaring fire yet but so far the amount of heat put out is very unimpressive. I'm reserving judgement until we've had a big fire for several hours but we do have a large area to heat.

We love the look of our Drolet HT-3000 wood burning stove and the installation went great. However, due to multiple bricks that were broken in transit, we have not built a fire in it yet. My installer (who is excellent) was impressed with the unit.

Bought the HT-3000 for its large heating capacity. The stove does give off a lot of heat. The blower is noisy. I am disappointed in the firebox as the front ledge is too low and the stove doesn't completely burn out the coals so after a day or so the coals are built up to the point that when you add wood they fall out on the front ledge. The most serious issue is the secondary air intake setup — on a very windy day you can close the draft control all the way shut and the stove will still burn as if it was getting full draft.

The door doesn't always seal properly. When closed with a fire in and you reduce the vent it seldom makes a difference due to the lack of a good seal around the door. It appears the door may be twisted and not perfectly flat against the stove structure.

The stove is great, nice heat, lasts a long time, easy to get going. However, a few manufacturer defects in my opinion. The pins that are supposed to keep the handle from going around broke off flush with the door — very weak design. I own 5 Drolet stoves and this is my first issue with them.

Just got it hooked up for a couple of days so cannot give a good overview yet. We are still waiting for a thermostat and the blower we got has a faulty switch. It's in my unfinished basement, and I'm struggling to get 20°C on the main floor; in the basement I get 21-22°C if it runs all day. My expectations were higher. Frankly disappointed, and on top of not putting out much heat, it's not easy to light. (translated from French)

This stove was purchased in Aug 2020 but not installed until Sept 2021. I can't say I am unsatisfied per se, just wondering why the stove seems to use a lot of wood and burns only about 5-6 hours at best on a full load of wood. Asking if there is a Drolet warranty fix for the secondary air tubes or main damper.

We can not get a fire to burn in our new stove! Fire goes out very quickly and smoke comes out from everywhere. There is no intake air. The only way we can get a small fire to burn without smoking up the whole house is to remove the ash cap.
