The Drolet Escape 2100 wood stove (model DB03129) is the largest stove in Drolet's Escape line. It heats 1,000 to 2,700 sq ft with a maximum heat output of 110,000 BTU/h, takes logs up to 22" and is rated for burn times up to 10 hours. It is EPA 2020 certified at 1.6 g/h emissions, with an average overall efficiency of 71% (HHV) and an optimum overall efficiency of 77%. Heavy-duty 5/16" steel top reinforced with a C-Cast heat shield, cast iron door frame, refractory brick lining and a vermiculite baffle. 6" flue outlet, optional blower up to 100 CFM. Certified for mobile home and alcove installation. Proudly made in Canada.
Who the Escape 2100 is for
Choose the Escape 2100 when one stove has to heat most of a large house. It suits:
- Homes of about 1,000 to 2,700 sq ft, especially open-concept main floors and great rooms.
- Two-story homes where heat can rise through an open stairwell.
- Cold-climate owners who want to load in the morning and again at bedtime instead of feeding the stove all day.
Insulation, layout and climate all shift the real heating area. If you are heating well under 1,000 sq ft, a big firebox is hard to run cleanly at low output; the Drolet Escape 1800 (up to 2,100 sq ft, 75,000 BTU/h) or a smaller model from our wood stove collection will be easier to live with.
Firebox and loading
The firebox has an overall volume of 3.5 cu ft (2.88 cu ft EPA loading volume) and measures 22 7/8" wide, 12 7/8" high and 20 1/8" deep inside. Logs up to 22" long load east-west, side to side across the firebox; Drolet recommends 16" splits for the easiest loading. The door opening is 19" x 9 7/8", with 5/32" ceramic glass and an air wash that helps keep the glass clear. The body is 3/16" steel, and the stove stands on a pedestal with an ash drawer. Overall it measures 28 1/8" wide, 31 7/8" deep and 34 1/2" high, and it ships at about 498 lb.
Burn time and heat output
Drolet rates the Escape 2100 at up to 110,000 BTU/h with a dense load of dry cordwood, and at 17,200 to 57,800 BTU/h overall heat output from low to high burn under EPA test conditions. That range lets one big stove handle both a mild fall evening and the coldest January night.
The maximum burn time is up to 10 hours. Treat that as the best case. Real burns depend on wood species, moisture (Drolet's target is 15% to 20%), load size, chimney draft and air setting. Dry hardwood and a properly sized chimney get you closest to the rating.
Escape 2100 vs. HT-3000 vs. Blue Ridge 500
The Drolet HT-3000 is the Escape 2100's twin: both manuals list the same performance figures and the same clearances to combustibles. The Englander Blue Ridge 500 is built by the same manufacturer (SBI) in the same size class, made in the USA, and needs more room to the side walls.

Blower option
No blower is included, and none is required; the stove heats by radiation and natural convection. To push more warm air toward adjoining rooms, add the Drolet 100 CFM variable-speed blower (AC02050), the blower listed in the Escape 2100 parts list. Pair it with the Quick Connect Thermodisc (AC02055) so it switches on when the stove is hot and off when it cools.
Venting and installation
The Escape 2100 has a 6" flue outlet and uses 6" connector pipe. It must connect to a UL 103 HT (2,100°F) factory-built chimney or a code-approved masonry chimney with a flue liner, with at least 12 ft of total flue height. In the USA, double-wall connector pipe lets the stove sit 6" from the rear wall instead of 13" with single-wall pipe. With double-wall pipe and the certified modular wall heat shield (AC02762), the manual allows 2 1/2" to the rear and side walls. For a mobile home, Drolet requires double-wall pipe and the 5" fresh air intake kit (AC01336) with insulated intake duct.
Floor protection
Unless the stove sits on a non-combustible floor such as concrete, it needs a continuous non-combustible ember pad; no R-value is required. In the USA, the pad extends 16" in front of the door opening and 8" to each side. Ships via LTL (Less Than Truckload) freight – carriers include XPO Logistics, Estes Express, ABF Freight, Old Dominion, and FedEx Freight. Transit time is typically 3–10 business days from ship date. The carrier will call to schedule a delivery appointment.
Remote addresses. Some rural or hard-to-access addresses carry a carrier freight surcharge. If yours does, we'll email you the exact amount for approval before your order is processed — or you can cancel for a full refund.
Curbside delivery only. The driver will lower your order to the curb or end of your driveway via liftgate. This does not include bringing the item inside, carrying up stairs, or crossing uneven terrain.
Have an appliance dolly and an extra person available on delivery day. Need inside or threshold delivery? Contact us before ordering.
Inspect before signing. Before signing the Bill of Lading (BOL), check for any visible packaging damage. Write "DAMAGED" or "Subject to inspection" on the BOL if anything looks off.

Returns. Unused, uninstalled units in original packaging can be returned within 30 days. Appliance returns are subject to a $300 return freight charge plus a 15% restocking fee. Units that have been fired or installed cannot be returned. Accessories and parts carry a 15% restocking fee.
