Wood stoves, inserts, and the pellet option

The Englander lineup splits three ways: freestanding wood stoves that stand on the floor and vent up a chimney, wood inserts that fit inside an existing masonry fireplace, and the 25-CBPAH pellet stove for thermostat-controlled heat. The Blue Ridge 100 and 300 stoves share a firebox with the matching 150-I and 300-I inserts, so you can pick the format that suits your space at a similar heat output. England's Stove Works also builds the Cub, Black Bear, and Grizzly camp stoves, and we stock the pipe, shelves, and brick kits that fit them.

What you'll need for installation

A freestanding Blue Ridge wood stove vents through stove pipe and Class A chimney; a Blue Ridge insert needs a stainless chimney liner run up the existing flue; and the 25-CBPAH pellet stove uses sealed pellet vent pipe. Every wood-burning model also needs a hearth pad and the clearances printed in the owner's manual — see our clearance guide and the wood stove installation guide. Each product page lists that model's clearance requirements.

Replacing a discontinued Englander stove

A lot of Englander owners arrive here looking for a model England's Stove Works no longer builds. The Englander 30-NC guide covers what replaced that stove and how the current model compares on firebox size and heat output. For the wider picture — the 25-PDVC pellet stove, the 13-NC, and the rest of the retired lineup — see our discontinued Englander models guide. If you're also cross-shopping other brands, the Pleasant Hearth guide and the Lopi comparison cover the budget and premium ends.

Englander FAQs

Is Englander the same brand as England's Stove Works?

Yes. Englander is the brand name used by England's Stove Works, a family-owned manufacturer in Monroe, Virginia. You'll see the company called England's Stove Works, England Stove Works, or simply "England's stove" — it's the same maker behind the Englander and Blue Ridge stoves sold here.

What happened to the Englander Survivor line?

The Survivor was an earlier generation of England's Stove Works heaters that many owners still run today. We don't stock the discontinued Survivor models; the current EPA-certified successor, built by the same company, is the Blue Ridge wood stove series.

Are Englander stoves made in the USA?

Yes. England's Stove Works builds the Blue Ridge stoves and inserts in Monroe, Virginia, and backs them with a limited lifetime warranty.

Does the Blue Ridge 300L or 300P include a blower?

No — the blower is optional on the 300L and 300P freestanding wood stoves and is not included. The Blue Ridge wood inserts (150-I, 300-I, 500-I) do include a blower. Each product page lists exactly what's in the box.

Are Englander stoves mobile-home approved?

Most are. The Blue Ridge wood stoves are certified for mobile home installation with an outside air connection, and the 25-CBPAH pellet stove is mobile-home approved with a fresh air intake. Confirm the specific model's certification on its product page and in the owner's manual.

Do you charge sales tax on Englander stoves?

No. StoveSource charges no sales tax in any state, and orders over $250 ship free to the lower 48.

Choosing between them

Englander is the brand name of England's Stove Works, the Virginia manufacturer many longtime wood-burners still know for its older Survivor line; today the EPA-certified Blue Ridge series carries that made-in-USA reputation forward. We're an authorized dealer, so every stove ships with the full manufacturer warranty. Most Englander stoves currently include a free accessory with purchase — the included gift is shown on each product page.
