Which blower fits your stove?

A blower mounts inside the appliance's convection channel, so the part is matched to the stove, not to the room.

One exclusion worth reading twice: the AC02050 does not fit the Drolet Escape 1800, which takes the AC03095 instead. The AC02055 thermodisc ($55) is the same part across every Drolet, Englander, Osburn, Enerzone and Century stove that takes an AC02050 or AC03095. Linked models are stoves we stock; Osburn, Enerzone and Century appliances are built by SBI on the same chassis, and we sell the parts for them but not those stoves. Powered blower or heat-powered fan?

A powered blower bolts into the appliance, runs off a standard household outlet and moves 100–130 CFM through the stove's convection channels. It is the only option that meaningfully changes how far heat travels from the stove. A heat-powered stove-top fan needs no wiring and no fitment — it sits on the stove top and a thermoelectric module spins it once the surface heats. It moves far less air, but it keeps working in a power cut, which is the reason most people own one. A blower pushes warm air off the stove body and out into the room instead of letting it stack against the ceiling; a heat-powered top fan does a smaller version of the same job with no wiring at all.

Plenty of installs use both: the blower for everyday output, the top fan as the backup when the power goes.

What a thermodisc does

The thermodisc is a temperature-sensing switch wired between the blower and the outlet. It closes when the firebox reaches operating temperature and opens again as the stove cools, so the fan starts and stops on its own instead of blowing cold air into the room at the beginning and end of a burn. The AC02050 and AC03095 ship without one — add the AC02055. The AC02023 and AC01000 have one built in.

Blower FAQs

Will a blower make my stove heat the house better?

It moves heat further from the stove rather than producing more of it. Output is set by the firebox and the fuel; a blower stops warm air stacking up in the room the stove is in and pushes it toward doorways and hallways. In an open plan, or a house with a long run to the far rooms, that is a real difference.

Can I add a blower to a stove I already own?

Yes, if the stove was built to take one. Every model in the table above has a factory blower channel. Match your model to the part number, add the thermodisc where the table says sold separately, and it is a straightforward retrofit.

Why doesn't the AC02050 fit the Drolet Escape 1800?

The Escape 1800's convection channel is a different size and takes the 130 CFM AC03095 instead. It is the most common mis-order in this category, which is why the exclusion is spelled out on the product page as well.

Do heat-powered stove-top fans actually work?

They do, within their limits. Expect gentle circulation across the room rather than the airflow of a powered blower. Their advantage is that they need no electricity and no fitment, so they work on any stove and keep running through an outage.

Does a blower need its own circuit?

No — these run off a standard household outlet. Keep the cord clear of the stove body and route it away from the hot zone; the owner's manual shows the intended path.

Do you charge sales tax on blowers and fans?

Matching a blower to the stove

Two things decide it: your model, and whether the kit already includes a thermodisc — the temperature switch that starts the fan once the firebox is hot and stops it as the stove cools. Where the table says sold separately, add the AC02055 quick-connect thermodisc to your order; the blower will not cycle on its own without one.
