Inserts, pellet stoves, and furnace

Fitting an existing masonry fireplace? The Escape 1500-I and Escape 1800-I wood inserts are also available as bundles with the faceplate and stainless liner kit included, which saves $209–$278 versus buying separately. For automated heat, the ECO series pellet stoves run up to 51 hours per hopper fill, and the Heat Commander II furnace heats the whole house through your existing ductwork.

What you'll need for installation

Plan for three things beyond the stove: a chimney and stove pipe system (to-the-ceiling or through-the-wall kits bundle the parts), a hearth pad rated for your model, and the clearances to combustibles listed in the owner's manual — see our clearance guide. Every Drolet PDP lists its clearance requirements and recommended accessories, and our installation guide walks through the full process.

Drolet and the other SBI brands

Stove Builder International sells the same Quebec-built appliances under more than one badge, which is why cross-shopping can get confusing. Osburn and Enerzone both come off that line, and we've matched each of their models to its spec-equivalent Drolet so you can see what you're actually comparing. Looking further afield, our Pleasant Hearth guide sets a budget lineup against the closest Drolet stoves, and the Lopi comparison does the same at the premium end. If you're replacing a discontinued Century Heating stove, see the Drolet replacement for every Century model.

Drolet FAQs

Who makes Drolet wood stoves?

Drolet is a brand of Stove Builder International (SBI), a family-owned manufacturer in Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures, Quebec. The brand dates to blacksmith Georges Drolet in 1875.

Are Drolet stoves EPA certified?

Every Drolet wood stove and wood insert we sell is certified to the EPA 2020 standard. The Chic-Choc cookstove is the one exception — cookstoves are exempt from EPA certification.

Is StoveSource an authorized Drolet dealer?

Yes. Orders ship factory-fresh through SBI's authorized channel, and the limited lifetime warranty applies in full.

What size Drolet stove do I need?

As a rough rule, figure the square footage you actually need heated, then use the table above. Insulation, ceiling height, and climate shift the answer — the sizing calculator accounts for those.

Do you charge sales tax on Drolet stoves?

No. StoveSource charges no sales tax in any state, and orders over $250 ship free to the lower 48.
