Overview
Wood stove and fireplace gloves sewn with Kevlar thread (Drolet part number AC07820), for loading wood, adjusting logs and handling a hot stove door or handle.
What they are for
Reloading a stove that is already burning is where most minor burns happen: a sleeve brushes the door frame, or a split catches on the way in and you reach after it. A dedicated pair of stove gloves kept beside the hearth protects your hands and wrists during those few seconds, and the Kevlar stitching holds up to heat and rough bark better than ordinary work gloves.
Use them sensibly
Stove gloves protect against brief contact with hot surfaces and handling wood. They are not designed for holding burning material or for prolonged contact with the firebox, so use your fireplace tools for moving coals and keep the gloves dry.
