Class A Chimney Pipe — Through the Ceiling, Roof or Wall

If your wood stove pipe has to go through a ceiling, attic or roof, the part above the ceiling must be Class A insulated chimney listed to UL 103 HT. Stove pipe can't pass through a ceiling on its own.

What you need for a typical through-the-ceiling install with AllFuel HST (top to bottom):

Going through a second floor? Add a firestop radiation shield at each floor. Tall chimney above the roof? Add a roof support or extended roof brace. Need to jog around a rafter? See the 15 degree elbow kit.

Going out through a wall instead? Use a wall thimble, tee with clean-out cap and wall support, then chimney pipe up the outside wall.

From the stove up to the ceiling you'll use stove pipe. See our double-wall stove pipe.

Prefer stainless? We also carry the premium Ventis Class A line, further down this page. Pick one brand and stick with it: chimney parts from different brands can't be mixed.

Not sure what you need? Send us your ceiling height, attic height and roof pitch and we'll put the full parts list together for you.
