The Drolet Escape 1200 is a compact, high-efficiency non-catalytic wood stove designed for smaller spaces. EPA 2020 certified at 1.8 g/h, it produces up to 45,000 BTU/h to heat 250–1,200 square feet — ideal for cabins, cottages, or zone-heating a main room. I don't like the door opening and floor of stove at the same level so when you stoke the stove, burning coals come out the door onto the lip and then possibly onto the floor/hearth. Our Blaze king had a lower interior floor than door so no danger. The small stove (23" by 20" box) holds two short 1/2 logs only, so feed it every 1 or two hours, and it won't burn all night. I think the design lends itself to fire danger.

Fantastic stove all in all. It heats my 928 square foot house with ease. The glass stays clean unless you smother the fire for a long period of time. The glass cleans very easy after it's cooled also, regardless. The fire bricks were mostly destroyed upon arrival, so hopefully drolet stands behind their products and send me some replacements. I'm dealing with that right now. All in all, it's been a great purchase.

Wood stove is good for a budget. I've been running it for 3 months now.. paint is already starting to peel. My biggest concern is once the wood gets to a certain temperature there is no way to shut it down which can be very dangerous. I even installed a chimney damper and it has no effect when the secondary burners kick in. Not sure if mine is defective or not but this shouldn't be happening. Picture below is a good representation. The damper on the stove and the pipe are fully closed. Once the wood hits a certain temperature there is no stopping it untill it's been burnt down...

installe le 20 mars 2024 dans mon garage et il chauffe tres bien la porte ouverte!!! dommage mais c est pas comme ca qu ont chauffe!! il tire beaucoup la porte ouverte laisse monter dans la plage ou la temperature est ideal sans creosote et aussitot que je ferme la porte avec ouverture de cle au maximum il tombe a mauvaise plage= creosote et il boucanne a la sorti de cheminee.je possede un ht 3000 au sous sol et super celui la. Que faire !!!

I wasn't able to have the Woodstove installed until just recently. I've only performed the initial "burn-in" to cure the high temperature paint. Temperatures are currently warm outside, so I haven't "fired" the stove up yet. I'll provide a review after I do. I'm optimistic. I like that the wood stove top is longer that it is wide, flat, and that I can cook on it with cast iron cookware in an emergency power outage and keep my house warm at the same time. That's why I chose the Drolet Escape 1200 Model.

Totally unimpressed with this junk, it's my 2nd drolet an you think they would know how to make a stove by now. Buyer beware the vents don't work. They'll blame the flew but it's the design of the fresh air vent that is the issue.

I received this stove on November the 2nd 2022. I took the crate apart and the stove appears to be in good shape. I plan to be installing it within the next month, if not next summer. I haven't gotten a floor protection pad for it yet. The delivery went very smooth (Yellow Freight). Got a call the day before to set up a time.
