Discontinued Englander Stove Models: Current Replacements for the 25-PDVC, NC-30, 13-NC & More
England's Stove Works built its reputation on workhorse stoves sold under the Englander name at big-box retailers — models like the 25-PDVC pellet stove, the NC-30 and 13-NC wood stoves, the Madison, and the 17-VL. Those model numbers have been discontinued, but the company didn't stop building stoves. It replaced the old lineup with the current Blue Ridge series and the 25-CBPAH pellet stove — same Virginia manufacturer, same value-first positioning, updated to meet the EPA's 2020 emissions standards.

Replacing an NC-30, 30-NC, Madison or 32-NC. The Blue Ridge 500 shows its live status in the table above. If it can't ship in time, there are two routes: the Blue Ridge 500-I ($2,219) is the same 3.5 cu ft firebox and 110,000 BTU/h built as an insert (No confirmed date), if you have a masonry fireplace to put it in; otherwise the Blue Ridge 300L ($1,419, No confirmed date) or 300P ($1,449, Ships in 5–9 weeks) covers up to 2,100 sq ft, which carries most of the houses an NC-30 was sold into. The Drolet Heritage ($1,589, No confirmed date) is the same coverage with a 100 CFM blower included.

The closest alternative to what you had is the Drolet ECO-65R ($4,129, Ships in 1–3 days) — a 125 lb hopper running up to 105 hours per fill, so it beats the 120 lb hopper you're used to, covers 800–2,600 sq ft, and burns at 0.77 g/h, the cleanest stove we carry. What changed, and what didn't
The biggest difference between the legacy models and the Blue Ridge line is emissions certification. Every current Englander is certified to the EPA's 2020 particulate standards, which the older NC-series units predate. Efficiency is up as well, which means more heat from the same cord of wood. What hasn't changed: steel construction, cast iron doors, mobile-home and alcove certifications on most models, and pricing that undercuts most comparable stoves in each size class. Sizing your replacement
Don't assume your old stove was the right size — many big-box stoves were bought oversized.
