Discontinued Englander Stove Models: Current Replacements for the 25-PDVC, NC-30, 13-NC & More
Share
England's Stove Works built its reputation on workhorse stoves sold under the Englander name at big-box retailers — models like the 25-PDVC pellet stove, the NC-30 and 13-NC wood stoves, the Madison, and the 17-VL. Those model numbers have been discontinued, but the company didn't stop building stoves. It replaced the old lineup with the current Blue Ridge series and the 25-CBPAH pellet stove — same Virginia manufacturer, same value-first positioning, updated to meet the EPA's 2020 emissions standards.
If you're replacing an old Englander and want to stay with the brand, this guide maps each discontinued model to its closest current equivalent. As an authorized Englander dealer, we carry the full current line with free freight shipping and no sales tax in any state.
Replacement map: old model to current model

| Your discontinued model | Type | Current replacement | Why it's the match |
|---|---|---|---|
| 25-PDVC / 55-SHP10 | Pellet stove | 25-CBPAH | The current Englander pellet platform: heats up to 2,200 sq ft with a 120 lb hopper for extended burn times between fills. |
| 55-SHPCBPAH / 55-TRPCBPAH | Pellet stove | 25-CBPAH | These aren't even different stoves — the manufacturer's own manual covers all three designations as the same 25-CBPAH platform. The store-brand numbers were used for different retail channels. |
| 25-PAH / 55-SHPAH / 55-SPAHL / 55-TRPAH | Pellet stove | 25-CBPAH | The older Pellet Auxiliary Heater platform — one stove under four numbers, as the factory manual states outright. It ran 11,000–25,000 BTU/h for 800–2,000 sq ft on a 120 lb hopper. The 25-CBPAH keeps that hopper capacity, extends coverage to 2,200 sq ft, and carries EPA 2020 certification the PAH generation predates. Many PAH units sold through AMFM Energy, which is no longer in business — parts and warranty support for those stoves now run through the current Englander line. |
| NC-30 / 30-NC | Large wood stove | Blue Ridge 500 | The NC-30's successor in the large-firebox class: 3.5 cu ft firebox, up to 110,000 BTU/h, heats up to 2,700 sq ft with burn times up to 10 hours, EPA certified at 1.6 g/h. |
| Madison / 32-NC | Large wood stove | Blue Ridge 500 | Same story as the NC-30 — the Blue Ridge 500 is the current large Englander, with the wide east-west loading big-firebox owners expect. |
| 17-VL | Mid-size wood stove | Blue Ridge 300L or 300P | The mid-size slot: 2.4 cu ft firebox, up to 8-hour burns, heats up to 2,100 sq ft. The 300L sits on legs; the 300P is the pedestal version. |
| 13-NC | Compact wood stove | Blue Ridge 100 | The compact class match: 1.8 cu ft firebox, up to 45,000 BTU/h, sized for spaces up to 1,200 sq ft — the same footprint the 13-NC served. |
| 13-NCI (insert) | Wood insert | Blue Ridge 150-I | The compact insert in the current line. Larger fireplaces should look at the 300-I or 500-I. |
What changed, and what didn't

The biggest difference between the legacy models and the Blue Ridge line is emissions certification. Every current Englander is certified to the EPA's 2020 particulate standards, which the older NC-series units predate. Efficiency is up as well, which means more heat from the same cord of wood. What hasn't changed: steel construction, cast iron doors, mobile-home and alcove certifications on most models, and pricing that undercuts most comparable stoves in each size class. We compare every current Blue Ridge stove and insert side by side if you want to match your old model on firebox size rather than model number.
Sizing your replacement
Don't assume your old stove was the right size — many big-box stoves were bought oversized. Before ordering, run your square footage, climate, and insulation through our 30-second stove sizing calculator, or check the Stove Buyers Guide. Clearances and hearth requirements have also changed between generations — verify your setup against the clearance guide and the current model's manual before installing in the old stove's spot.
