The ComfortBilt HP75C pellet stove is ComfortBilt's all-cast iron flagship. It heats up to 3,000 sq ft and delivers 10,525 to 43,298 BTU/h in EPA testing. The 65 lb hopper (55 lb usable) runs up to 22 hours between fills. It is EPA 2020 certified at 1.42 g/h with 80.7% weighted average efficiency (HHV); ComfortBilt lists 81.8% LHV. Heating capacity depends on climate, insulation and layout. Like every pellet stove, the HP75C needs electricity: it shuts down safely in a power outage and does not restart on its own, so keep a backup heat source.

Hopper and burn time

The hopper holds 65 lb of pellets, 55 lb of it usable. That's up to 22 hours of burn at low settings; expect fewer hours on high. Clean the cast iron burn pot each time you fill the hopper and empty the ash pan at least once a week. The free ash vacuum included with this stove makes that a two-minute job.

Heat output and efficiency

Under EPA test conditions the HP75C delivers 10,525 to 43,298 BTU/h. Weighted average efficiency is 80.7% (HHV) at 1.42 g/h particulate emissions, and it meets the 2020 EPA limits. When even the lowest heat level is too much, ECO mode lets the stove shut off and relight on its own to hold your set temperature.

Controls

The top-mounted control panel offers four modes:

• Manual: five heat levels.
• Temp: holds a room temperature you set, with optional ECO cycling.
• Weekly: separate programs for each day, up to four time periods per day.
• Thstat: runs from a wired wall thermostat.

The included remote works up to 10 ft away. A backup battery keeps your schedules through a power cut.

The HP61 matches the 3,000 sq ft rating. The HP22N's 80 lb hopper means fewer refills. The HP75C has the highest maximum output of the three, and it is the one to choose for cast iron and color.

Venting and installation

Use 3" or 4" Type L or PL pellet vent, starting with a 3" appliance adapter on the exhaust hub. The ComfortBilt 3" pellet vent kit covers a standard through-wall install. The 3" system allows up to 15 equivalent vent length (EVL); 4" allows 25. Each 90° elbow or tee counts 5 and each foot of horizontal pipe counts 1. Keep horizontal runs to 4 ft with a ¼" rise per foot. Switch to 4" pipe above 5,000 ft elevation or for long runs. Never connect to a chimney that serves another appliance. An outside air connection (2" non-combustible pipe, no longer than 8 ft) is required in mobile homes and recommended for basements and tight houses; the DuraVent 3" wall thimble air intake kit handles both the pass-through and the air inlet. In a mobile home the stove must also be permanently attached to the floor and grounded to the chassis. Clearances to combustibles are in the table below: 4" from the back wall with horizontal venting, 7" from a side wall, and 5" to the rear corners.

Floor protection

Unless the stove sits on a non-combustible floor or masonry hearth, it needs a non-combustible floor protector extending 6" in front of the glass and 6" on each side. With horizontal venting, the protector should also extend 2" beneath the flue pipe (required in Canada, recommended in the USA). At 26 1/2" wide, the HP75C needs a pad at least 38 1/2" wide, so choose the ComfortBilt 40" hearth pad or another option from our hearth pads.
