Heat Shield Kit for 6" Black Single Wall Stove Pipe — To The Ceiling

Heat shield kit for 6" black single-wall stove pipe, to-the-ceiling configuration. This is the part that lets you put a single-wall pipe run close to a wall.

Why it matters: bare single-wall connector pipe requires 18" clearance to combustibles. With approved SBI shielding installed, US clearances drop to 6" to side walls and 9" to the ceiling — a 67% reduction at the walls. If shielding other than SBI's is used, the wall clearance is 9" instead of 6".

The shield mounts to the pipe on non-combustible spacers, holding a 1" air gap. SBI single-wall pipe is certified to ULC S641 only when installed with SBI shielding.

Clearance reduction applies to the pipe. Your stove's own minimum clearances still apply in full and are never reduced by shielding the pipe — where the two differ, use the larger. Single-wall pipe must not pass through a wall or ceiling, must not be used outdoors, and is not permitted in mobile homes. Always confirm the connector pipe type and clearances specified in your stove's installation manual.
