Fix a door that won't seal

  • Loose handle: most wooden handles are held by a single screw or pin, so a new handle takes minutes.
  • Door won't latch tight: many latches can be adjusted a quarter turn before you replace them. If the latch cam is worn, replace the latch kit.
  • Still leaking with a good latch: the door gasket is worn. Do the dollar-bill test from our door gasket replacement guide, then find your size in wood stove gaskets.
  • Door sagging on its hinges: replace the hinge pin and retaining ring.
