Share
HearthStone is one of the few premium wood stove makers that publishes a full US price list. Its 2026 MSRPs run from $2,549 for the small Lincoln to $8,899 for the Bari, stove only, with the popular soapstone models like the Castleton, Heritage and Mansfield between about $4,000 and $5,800. Freight, installation, venting and sales tax all come on top.
Below is every current HearthStone wood stove and insert with its list price, what the rest of the job adds, and the stoves we would put against each one. Ours ship with No Sales Tax in any state and free shipping, with the price on the page.

What a HearthStone project really costs
A HearthStone is a heavy stove: the Mansfield weighs 605 lb and the Heritage 535 lb, which matters for delivery and for your floor. Typical additions on a freestanding install:
| Item | Typical cost |
|---|---|
| Freight and delivery | Quoted by the dealer; heavy stoves cost more to move |
| Chimney or stainless liner | Varies with height; often the biggest line |
| Hearth pad | $189–$525 from us; more for stone or tile |
| Installation labor | $1,000–$2,500+ |
| Sales tax | About $300–$450 on a $5,000 HearthStone, depending on your state |
A $5,000 Heritage is routinely a $7,000 to $9,000 project once it is delivered, vented and installed. When you call a dealer, ask for the installed price including venting and freight. Our wood stove installation cost guide covers each line item.

Heritage vs Escape 1800. The Heritage heats up to 2,000 sq ft from soapstone, with a side-loading door and a 25-hour maximum burn. The Escape 1800 covers up to 2,100 sq ft at 75,000 BTU/h, takes 20" logs and runs 8-hour burns, for less than a third of the Heritage's list price. Where the Heritage wins outright is emissions: 0.54 g/h is one of the cleanest figures in North America.
Mansfield vs HT-3000. The Mansfield is HearthStone's flagship, 605 lb of mostly soapstone heating up to 2,500 sq ft with 30-hour burns on low. The HT-3000 covers up to 2,700 sq ft at 110,000 BTU/h from a 3.5 cu ft firebox taking 22" logs, with 10-hour burns and a limited lifetime warranty on the combustion chamber. The Drolet is the bigger heater on paper; the Mansfield gives slower, gentler heat that lasts long after the fire dies down.
Green Mountain 40 vs Blue Ridge 100 N. The Blue Ridge 100 N heats 250–1,200 sq ft at 75,000 BTU/h, takes 17" logs and is mobile-home approved, for under a third of the Green Mountain 40's list price. It is in stock now. Our small wood stove guide ranks the rest of the compact range.

What the HearthStone premium buys
- Soapstone heat. Soapstone soaks up the fire and releases it for hours, so the room stays evenly warm long after the flames are out. Nothing made of steel does quite the same thing.
- Long, clean burns. The TruHybrid stoves post 16- to 30-hour maximum burns and very low emissions. Those maximums happen on the lowest setting, and the catalyst is a part that wears and gets replaced over the stove's life.
- Vermont craft. HearthStone has built stoves in Morrisville, Vermont since 1978.
The trade-off is speed: soapstone takes longer to heat a cold room. If you burn around the clock all winter, HearthStone suits you well. If you want heat fast on a cold evening, a steel stove gets there sooner. HearthStone vs Drolet covers that trade in depth, and catalytic vs non-catalytic explains owning a combustor.
Older HearthStone models
The Phoenix, Equinox, Tribute and earlier Heritage (8021) are no longer in HearthStone's lineup, though parts and forum support continue. If you are replacing one, match the heating area first: the Escape 1800 covers what most mid-size HearthStones heated, and the HT-3000 covers the large ones. Check clearances and your hearth against the new stove's manual before you order.
