Room (convection) blower motors

The room blower pushes heat off the heat exchanger into the room. If the stove burns but the room stays cool, or the fan hums without turning, this is the part. Some Englander models list both blowers, so match the part number in your manual.

Is it the exhaust blower?

  • Loud grinding, squealing or rattling at start-up usually means worn bearings or an impeller hitting ash buildup.
  • Vacuum shutdowns or an E-1 code on an Englander 25-PDVC or 25-PDV can mean the blower is too slow to make draft. See the Englander error code chart.
  • Clean before you replace. Ash packed in the blower housing and exhaust passage is the most common cause of low draft. Brush it out with the stove unplugged (the ComfortBilt exhaust port brush fits the HP line).

Always replace the blower gasket when you remove the blower: Englander combustion blower gasket kit, Drolet ECO-65 exhaust blower gasket or exhaust adapter gasket.
