Is it the auger motor?
When a pellet stove stops feeding, the motor is only one of the possible causes. Check these first:
- Hopper lid or safety switch. Most stoves stop the auger when the hopper lid is open or a vacuum or high-limit switch trips.
- Jammed auger. Wet pellets, fines or a foreign object can jam the auger so the motor hums but does not turn. Empty the hopper and clear it.
- The motor itself. If the auger turns freely by hand, the stove is calling for fuel and the motor is silent or only hums, the motor (or on a ComfortBilt, its capacitor) has likely failed.
