Grand Teton Pellet Stoves (Jackson, Gros Ventre, Elk Ridge, Teewinot) vs ComfortBilt

Grand Teton pellet stoves are Tractor Supply's exclusive line, launched in 2022 with Enerco Group, the Cleveland, Ohio company behind Mr. Heater and Cleveland Iron Works. Every model has built-in Wi-Fi, app control and Alexa or Google voice control, and prices run from about $1,000 to $1,500.

Below are all four models on Grand Teton's own published specs, what they do well, where the listings fall short, and the ComfortBilt stove we'd put against each one. Every ComfortBilt we sell ships with No Sales Tax in any state and free shipping.

The Grand Teton pellet lineup

Model Heats Hopper Size (H × W) Tractor Supply price
Jackson (F500420) 800–1,200 sq ft 30 lb 28.5" × 18.25" $999.99
Gros Ventre (F500460) 1,500–2,200 sq ft 60 lb 33.25" × 21.75" $1,299.99 ($1,099.99 on sale)
Elk Ridge (F500466) 1,800–2,500 sq ft 65 lb 30.5" × 26.5" not listed online
Teewinot (F500430) 2,000–3,000 sq ft 130 lb 37" × 16" $1,499.99

Specs from Grand Teton's product pages; prices from Tractor Supply listings and Google Shopping, October 2026. Grand Teton's own pages disagree with themselves in places (the Jackson lists both an 18 lb and a 30 lb hopper, the Elk Ridge 65 and 66 lb), so confirm against the manual for the stove you buy.

All four share the same platform: a touch-screen panel, a 250 CFM blower, automatic ignition, a 3" pellet vent, and a fresh air kit in the box.

Who really makes Grand Teton stoves

Grand Teton's site says the stoves come from the makers of Mr. Heater, and the brand is based in Cleveland, Ohio. The model codes line up with Cleveland Iron Works, Enerco's other pellet brand: the Jackson is an N20, the Gros Ventre an N60, the Teewinot an N130 and the Elk Ridge a bay-front 66, matching Cleveland Iron Works' PS20W, PS60W, PS130W and Bay Front. Parts suppliers sell the same replacement blowers for Cleveland Iron Works, Lowe's Master Forge and Grand Teton stoves. If you're comparing a Grand Teton with a Cleveland Iron Works, you're largely comparing the same stove under two badges, so our Cleveland Iron Works comparison applies here too.

Grand Teton vs ComfortBilt, model by model

Grand Teton Closest ComfortBilt How they compare
Jackson ($999.99) Alpine HP40 ($1,099) The HP40 is rated for more space (up to 1,500 vs 1,200 sq ft) and publishes 26,000 BTU/h output and 81% EPA-certified efficiency. The Jackson costs $100 less and holds slightly more pellets (30 vs 25 lb).
Gros Ventre ($1,099.99–$1,299.99) Alpine HP41 ($1,299) Same 2,200 sq ft top rating. The Gros Ventre has the bigger hopper (60 vs 52 lb); the HP41 publishes its output (32,000 BTU/h) and efficiency (80.3%, EPA certified) and is 3 inches narrower.
Elk Ridge (bay front) Alpine HP42 ($1,499) or HP22 ($2,399) For the same 2,500 sq ft, the HP42 nearly doubles the hopper (120 vs 65 lb, up to 80 hours on low). If the wide flame view is the draw, the HP22's bay-view glass is the like-for-like, rated to 2,800 sq ft at 80.5% EPA-certified efficiency and 1.01 g/h.
Teewinot ($1,499.99) Alpine HP42 ($1,499) or HP61 ($2,299) Same price as the HP42 and a similar hopper (130 vs 120 lb). The HP42 lists 42,000 BTU/h against the Teewinot's 39,460 BTU maximum. For a true 3,000 sq ft job, the HP61 is rated to 3,000 sq ft at 80.1% EPA-certified efficiency.

Where Grand Teton genuinely wins

  • Smart controls out of the box. Built-in Wi-Fi, the GTC Smart Stove app, and Alexa and Google Home voice control on every model. On a ComfortBilt, phone control is an add-on: the BC Innovate Wi-Fi module ($129.99) fits all three Alpines and the HP line. Our thermostat and Wi-Fi guide covers the options.
  • A longer steel warranty. Grand Teton lists 5 years on steel parts and 1 year on electrical. The Alpine stoves carry 3 years on steel parts and 1 year on electrical components and the burn pot.
  • The fresh air kit is included, which saves a part if you're installing in a mobile home or a tight house.
  • Tractor Supply sales. The Gros Ventre and Teewinot regularly go on sale, and you can see one in a store before buying.

Where the listings fall short

  • No published efficiency or emissions. Grand Teton's pages say EPA approved but don't give an efficiency percentage or a g/h emissions figure for any model. ComfortBilt publishes both for its HP line and EPA-certified efficiency for the Alpines.
  • Little published output data. Only the Teewinot lists a heat output (39,460 BTU maximum), and the Jackson lists 32,068 BTU input. Coverage ranges like "2,000–3,000 sq ft" are hard to size against without an output number.
  • An outdated tax-credit claim. Grand Teton's product pages still say the stoves are eligible for a tax credit. The federal 25C biomass credit expired on December 31, 2025, so no pellet stove bought in 2026 qualifies.
  • Owner ratings are mixed. At the time of writing, Google Shopping showed the Teewinot at 3.5 out of 5 across 391 reviews, the Gros Ventre at 3.7 across 192, and the Jackson at 4.0 across 62.

What the whole job costs

Either brand needs a 3" pellet vent and a non-combustible hearth pad. For a ComfortBilt, our 3" pellet vent kit ($429) covers a standard through-wall install, and the hearth pad guide shows which pad fits. At Tractor Supply, budget for sales tax and, if you want it delivered rather than picked up, a delivery fee (the Teewinot listed $149.99). We charge No Sales Tax and ship free. Our guide to pellet stoves at Tractor Supply, Home Depot and Lowe's covers the rest of the store's lineup.

Which should you buy?

  • Voice control and an app out of the box, at the lowest price → a Grand Teton, likely the Gros Ventre on sale.
  • One room or a tight corner → the 17"-wide Alpine HP40.
  • A mid-size home with published efficiency → the Alpine HP41.
  • Days between fills → the Alpine HP42, same price as the Teewinot with more listed output.
  • Whole-house heat → the ComfortBilt HP61 or the best-selling HP22.
