Overview
CrownSaver by Saver Systems is a cement repair coating for chimney crowns that are too rough or worn for a brush-on sealant. It blends polymer hydraulic cements with modified polysiloxane, the active ingredient in ChimneySaver water repellent, so the new surface is waterproof as well as hard. How it works
Mix one scoop of CrownSaver with three scoops of clean masonry sand for each square foot you're covering (the scoop is included), then add water sparingly until it's like stiff mortar. Trowel it over the dampened crown, or over FormFoil if you're using a foil underlayment. It is a non-load-bearing coating, so the crown underneath must be structurally sound.

- Keep dry: no rain for 4 hours unless covered with polyethylene film
- Cure time: dry to the touch in 4 to 6 hours, fully cured within 24 hours
- Color: light gray (can be tinted with small amounts of mortar dye)

What to use with it
- FormFoil: goes under CrownSaver as an underlayment.
- High temperature silicone sealant: run a 1/2" bead around each flue tile first to form an expansion joint.
- HomeSaver crown forms: reusable steel forms for pouring a new crown.
- CrownSeal or CrownCoat: lighter coatings for a crown that only has hairline cracks.
