Overview
Firestop radiation shield for 4" Vortex pellet vent (VOP0231). Required wherever a vertical pellet vent run passes through a floor or ceiling assembly — it maintains the listed clearance through the framed opening and blocks the path fire would otherwise take between floors.
Works with any 4" Vortex pellet vent run, regardless of stove brand. Pellet vent is system-specific at the joints — Vortex locks to Vortex and will not join another manufacturer's pellet vent.
Vortex pellet vent is listed at 1" clearance to combustibles and meets NFPA 211, CSA B365, UL 641, CAN/ULC S609 and ULC/ORD C441. Never pack the clearance space with insulation or any other material.
For a run continuing into an unheated attic, add the ceiling support and follow the stove manual's vent chart.
