Required where the vent passes through an attic, the shield sits above the ceiling firestop and holds insulation and debris back from the pipe, maintaining 1" clearance to combustibles. Galvanized steel.

Install it with the 3" ceiling firestop spacer, then continue up with DuraVent 3" PelletVent Pro straight pipe to the roof flashing.

ComfortBilt notes that 4" allows longer runs, and recommends 4" on its stoves when the flue height is over 12 ft, above 5,000 ft elevation, or when the layout goes past the 3" vent-length limit.
