Overview
Skamol replacement panels replace cracked or crumbling refractory panels in factory-built (prefab) wood-burning fireplaces. They are lightweight vermiculite, so you cut them to the size and shape of your old panels with ordinary woodworking tools. Buy from StoveSource and pay no sales tax in any state.
Patterns and part numbers
| Pattern | Part number |
|---|---|
| Brick | SKMBRK |
| Herringbone | SKMHRB |
Before you order: measure each old panel (back and sides). Skamol expands about 1.5% when heated, so leave a small gap at the edges when you trim. Check that your fireplace manual allows aftermarket replacement panels.
