Overview
Approved SBI heat shield for 8" black single-wall stove pipe, sized for a 36" pipe section.
It mounts to the pipe on non-combustible spacers and holds an air gap between the pipe and the shield, which lets a single-wall connector sit closer to a combustible wall or ceiling than bare pipe can. It is an SBI-approved heat shield (SBIHA).

Bare single-wall connector pipe requires an 18" clearance to combustibles; an approved heat shield lets the pipe sit closer. Use the reduced clearance printed in the shield's instructions. Shielding only works where it is installed, so plan a shield for each section of the run that sits close to a combustible surface. Your stove's own minimum clearances still apply in full and are never reduced by shielding the pipe. Single-wall pipe must not pass through a wall or ceiling, must not be used outdoors and is not permitted in mobile homes.
