Finding the right Napoleon remote

Match the part number, not the look. Napoleon remotes are paired to the receiver and valve in your fireplace, so two remotes that look alike can be different systems. The part number (W660-, G660- or F-series) is in the parts list of your fireplace or insert manual, and often on a label inside the battery cover of the old remote.

Before you replace it: try fresh batteries in both the remote and the receiver, then re-pair the remote to the receiver following your manual. Most "dead remote" calls are batteries.

Thermostatic or on/off? A thermostatic remote like the F60 cycles the fireplace to hold the room at the temperature you set. An on/off remote like the F45 just lights and shuts off the fireplace.
